If a player grows impatient, he may attempt to take a shortcut – but there will be consequences in his relations with other lords.Ī male character should keep in mind that other lords will be competing with him for the affections of the kingdom's ladies. He should establish a reputation in Calradian aristocratic society, get on good terms with his bride's parents or guardians, and then woo the lady according to local custom.
A male character will usually need to pursue a traditional path of courtship. Marriage requirements will be different for males and females. Marriage is not necessary for a player to rise in power and stature, but it does provide players with an opportunity to improve their relation with lords (by helping you host a feast), help prevent vassals from defecting (by offering you a special quest that allows you to resolve a dispute between nobles in your faction), establish a claim to the throne, and provide you with a household inventory you can store items that is accessible through your spouse (this inventory is also used to stock supplies for feasts). You do however get another achievement for it as well.Players may wish to marry into one of Calradia's noble families. If they have a good enough opinion of you, ask them, and they will ask you to put some Denars towards a dowery, pay that and get married OR depending on the female, ask to elope, this requires a higher opinion, and doesn't work with all of them. They will accept, and ask you to get their fathers permission, or brother. Once their opinion of you is about 20 you can ask to marry them. If you learn poems in taverns this can help too, as you can recite a poem to them each meeting. Go and itll give you a small opinion boost.
Then also declare yourself their admirer, hopefully they take it well (Ive not seen it go bad so long as you have a decent friendship with them).Īfter this they will call you back every once in a while to wherever there brother/father has as a fief and asks to meet. If they are unmarried, dedicate your recent success in the tourney to them, and that should give you a good Opinion boost.
Once there, find any of the female Ladys, and then ask about their family, or check in the notes section. Once you have won it, go to the lords hall, should say (join the feast) next to it. This one is fairly straightforward, and can be worked on while doing other things, this guide will only work with Male characters, marriage works different if you play as a female.įind a town (the ones with a marketplace and arena), then go to the arena and ask if there is any tournaments going on in other towns, if there is ride to one, and if there is a feast on, take part and win the tournament.
